Remington 700 AAC-SD: Getting there

Bought the base gun a month ago and have been slowly upgrading it and getting ready to shoot it.  Had originally planned on waiting to replace the stock, but found a good deal on the B&C.

Remington 700 AAC-SD .308
B&C M40 Stock
SWFA SS 3-9x42
Weaver 20moa Base - Bedded

Still need better rings, a 6-9" bipod, CDI bottom metal, bolt knob and a better trigger.

Oh yeah, and i've got to find time to shoot it.

  1. Good blog, and neat holsters. I've made a few for myself and friends over the years, all hand stitched one blister at a time... I have an AAC-SD and really like it. It replaced a really accurate Savage 10fcp with the HS stock. (I never could get used to the accutrigger...). So far I've been using the same load as I did with the Savage with great success in the AAC-SD; 42gr of 8208xbr under a 168gr SMK. I finally finished the upgrades I had planned for her: AICS 2.0, Timney 3# trigger, Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 in Seekins rings on a 20moa NF base, an Atlas spigot-mount bipod, a thread-on 308 can
(Griffin Armament Scout), KRG polymer bolt knob "cover", and a TAB sling and rear bag. She tips the scales at a whopping 18lbs!!! But is a real peach to shoot once I've lugged her out somewhere. :-) I'm really happy with each upgrade I chose and would recommend them all. Cheers, B

  2. Sounds like you have a very nice gun. At one time I owned a Remington 5R in a AICS 1.5, but decided that I wanted to be able to hunt with it. My AAC-SD is heavy enough with the BC stock, but I think I could carry it in the hills.

The one thing I have to do is add a Trigger to it, the factory one just does not do it for m.
